One of Formula One’s up and coming stars Felipe Massa was seriously injured last weekend at the Hungary Grand Prix qualifying round. As a self proclaimed Ferrari Team fan, I wanted to wish Felipe Massa a fast recovery and strength and goodwill for his family. I am confident that he will be driving a Formula one car very soon. I am not sure how this is going to affect the safety standards at the F1 races but whatever they do I am sure it will be for the good of the drivers and fans. It has been finalized that Michael Schumacher will be driving for Team Ferrari as a replacement for Massa. The story line is building with Schumacher coming back after two years of retirement and a year old neck injury. Schumacher will start the season at Valencia which has been changed since he retired and he will be behind the cockpit of a F-60 car vastly different from the 248-F1 car from the 2006 season.
With viewers rating falling and all the other issues plaguing the F1 (Teams wanting to form their own federation and a new racing series) Micheal’s return even if its only for a season maybe a good thing for the sport. Again we all wish Massa the very best and hope to see him on the track soon.
Go reds !!!
