A wonderful state park, perfect for a weekend trip. Wide open spaces packed with a lot of activity . We tried our hand at tandem kayaks and had a blast. The park rangers are friendly and are nature lovers themselves. They have other activities like boating and biking as well. The park offers two period cottages for rent if you don’t want to rough it in a tent.
They had an marshmallow roast the night we were there at the amphitheater and we had a lot of fun talking with the camp ranger. The next morning we headed out to the shoreline and it was gorgeous. The white sand dotted with beautiful drift wood was picturesque.
The drive to the Lancaster County was a pleasant ride, all in all a very relaxing weekend indeed.
